The Lord is God, and he has made his light shine on us. With boughs in hand, join in the festal procession up [bind] to the horns of the altar.

How long will you waver, faithless daughter? For the Lord has created a new thing on the earth: a woman encircles a man.

I wash my hands in innocence and go around your altar, Lord.

They send forth their children as a flock; their little ones dance [skip] about.

Then will the lame leap like a deer, and the mute tongue shout for joy. Water will gush forth in the wilderness and streams in the desert.

Wearing a linen ephod, David was dancing [whirling] before the Lord with all his might.

So they took the bull given them and prepared it. Then they called on the name of Baal from morning till noon. “Baal, answer us!” they shouted. But there was no response; no one answered. And they danced [limped] around the altar they had made.

When the young women of Shiloh come out to join in the dancing (whirling), rush from the vineyards and each of you seize one of them to be your wife. Then return to the land of Benjamin.
